Upgrading your home doesn’t always require a professional contractor. With the right tools and a bit of patience, you can enhance both the functionality and style of your living space yourself. In this guide, we’ll walk you through two of the most popular home hardware upgrades: mounting a flat-screen TV and installing smooth-gliding drawer runners.
At Pine Herbals, we provide the heavy-duty hardware you need to ensure these DIY projects are successful, safe, and long-lasting.
Featured Product: Alphamount TV Wall Mount (26–60″)
A wall-mounted TV creates a clean, cinematic look and saves valuable floor space. However, safety is paramount—a falling TV can be dangerous and costly.
Never mount a TV directly into drywall alone. Use a stud finder to locate the wooden or metal beams behind your wall. Mark the center of these studs with a pencil. Your Alphamount bracket must be anchored into these studs to support the weight of the television safely.
The ideal viewing height is usually at eye level when you are seated. Measure the distance from the floor and mark the wall. Use a spirit level to ensure your marks are perfectly straight.
Using a drill bit slightly smaller than your mounting screws, drill pilot holes into the center of the studs. Hold the wall plate up and drive the lag bolts through the plate into the wall. Double-check the level one last time before tightening fully.
Lay your TV face down on a soft surface (like a rug or towel). Attach the mounting arms to the back of the TV using the VESA holes. Ensure all screws are tight but do not over-tighten, as this could damage the TV’s internal components.
With the help of a friend, lift the TV and hook it onto the wall bracket. You should hear a click or feel it lock into place. For extra security, engage the safety locks or screws provided with your Alphamount kit.
Featured Product: AOLISHENG 550mm Drawer Runners
Sticky or sagging drawers are a nuisance. Replacing old hardware with AOLISHENG runners can make your kitchen or office furniture feel brand new again.
Pull the drawer out completely. Most runners have a small plastic lever that you press to release the drawer from the cabinet. Remove the old hardware and wipe down the surfaces to remove dust or old grease.
Your new runners consist of three parts. Use the release trigger to separate the “drawer profile” (the part that goes on the drawer) from the “cabinet profile” (the part that stays in the cupboard).
Place the runner inside the cabinet. Use a level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. If it’s even slightly tilted, the drawer may slide open on its own or get stuck. Screw the runner into the side of the cabinet using the pre-drilled holes.
Mount the matching piece to the side of the drawer box. Ensure it is flush with the front of the drawer. Repeat this for both sides, ensuring they are at the exact same height.
Line up the drawer tracks with the cabinet tracks and push the drawer in firmly. You might feel a slight resistance the first time as the ball bearings engage. Test the movement—it should now glide silently and smoothly!
Q: Can I install a TV mount on a brick or concrete wall? Yes, but you will need masonry wall plugs and a hammer drill. The standard screws provided for wooden studs are not suitable for brick.
Q: How do I know which size drawer runner to buy? Measure the depth of your cabinet (not the drawer itself). You want a runner that is slightly shorter than the depth of your cabinet space. Our 550mm AOLISHENG runners are ideal for standard deep kitchen cabinets.
Q: What is “Soft Close”? Soft close is a feature (available in many of our Angel Shield and AOLISHENG products) that catches the drawer or toilet seat just before it closes, pulling it shut silently and preventing slamming.
Home improvement is about taking pride in your space. Whether you are mounting a 60-inch TV for family movie night or fixing a kitchen drawer that’s been stuck for months, having high-quality hardware makes all the difference.
